As part of the fit-out of their St James’s Park restaurant, they required an audio solution that would complement the contemporary open-ceiling aesthetic while providing consistent, high-quality background music throughout the venue.

The Challenge

The challenge was to install a professional audio system that would:

  • Deliver clear, evenly distributed sound throughout the public dining areas.
  • Integrate seamlessly with the restaurant’s existing Startle music platform.
  • Maintain the clean architectural appearance of the venue.
  • Provide sufficient audio performance for both quieter trading periods and busy lunch time service.
  • Support future operational flexibility and simple day-to-day use.

Audio System Design

The Bose DesignMax Luna speakers were selected due to their ability to provide exceptional audio performance within open-ceiling environments while maintaining an elegant and minimalist appearance.

Suspended from the ceiling infrastructure, the pendant loudspeakers deliver wide and consistent coverage across the restaurant, ensuring every customer experiences the same high-quality audio regardless of where they are seated.

At the heart of the system, the Bose Veritas amplifier provides powerful, reliable audio distribution while allowing future flexibility for zoning and system adjustments.

The Solution

Excite Technology designed and installed a premium Bose Professional audio system specifically tailored to the venue’s requirements.

The solution included:

  • 4 x Bose DesignMax Luna Pendant Loudspeakers.
  • Bose Veritas 2160BL Professional Amplifier.
  • Integration with the existing Startle music platform.
  • New speaker cabling infrastructure.
  • System commissioning and audio balancing.
  • Full installation, testing and handover.

The Outcome

Installation

Working alongside the wider fit-out team, Excite Technology managed the installation and commissioning of the audio system, from first-fix cabling through to final handover.

The project included the installation of all loudspeakers and head-end equipment, amplifier configuration, system tuning, and integration with the Startle music service. Particular attention was given to speaker positioning and audio balancing to achieve consistent sound coverage throughout the venue while maintaining comfortable background music levels that enhance the dining experience.
