Project Overview

Trevor Moore approached Excite Technology with a vision to transform a purpose-built outbuilding at his home in Ware, Hertfordshire, into a professional-quality indoor golf simulator. Following a detailed consultation, the team developed a bespoke AV solution tailored to the space, incorporating a BenQ golf projector, launch monitor, gaming PC, Foresight Golf software, HDMI distribution, networking and integrated cabling. Excite Technology managed the technical design and coordination of the AV elements, as well as the equipment installation, configuration, testing and final handover.

The result was an immersive, reliable and professionally engineered home golf simulator designed for practice, performance analysis and virtual play.

Our Golf Simulator Design & Technical Solution

BenQ 4K Golf Simulator Projection

At the centre of the visual system is a BenQ 4K projector, selected to provide a detailed, immersive image across the Golf Bays impact screen. Golf simulator projection requires careful consideration of screen dimensions, aspect ratio, throw distance, mounting height and shadows caused by the golfer. Our team designed the projector positioning around the room and screen arrangement, using a suitable ceiling-mounted bracket to achieve the required image alignment.

Professional Gaming PC & Foresight Golf Software

Excite supplied a professional gaming PC configured for Foresight Golf software. The systemincorporates the HDMI, USB and data connections needed to integrate the PC with the projector, comfort monitor and launch monitor. The computer was configured and tested as a reliable platformfor indoor golf simulation.

Bushnell Launch Pro Indoor (LPi) – Circle B Edition

For this project, we recommended the Bushnell Launch Pro Indoor (LPi), also known as the Circle B Edition. This specialist launch monitor uses a three-camera photometric tracking system to measure golf ball launch characteristics and is designed for permanent indoor simulator installations. Working with compatible Foresight Golf software, it enables detailed shot analysis, practice and virtual golf.

Dual-Screen HDMI Distribution

An Ecler 1-in/2-out HDMI splitter distributes the gaming PC video signal to the main BenQ 4K projector and a secondary 32-inch comfort monitor. The additional screen provides a convenient viewing position for software navigation and simulator content.

Cabling, Connectivity & Infrastructure

Our team planned HDMI distribution, USB connectivity, data requirements, projector connections and computer cabling to support reliable operation and a tidy finish. Wiring diagrams documented system connections to assist future maintenance and upgrades.

Working Alongside the Client’s Building Works

Trevor was responsible for constructing the purpose-built outbuilding and sourced the golf impact screen, artificial grass and acoustic wall panels through GolfBays.

Excite Technology Ltd provided the complete AV technology package, from design and equipment selection to installation, configuration and commissioning. This collaborative approach allowed the client to manage the building and specialist finishes while benefiting from professional AV integration.

Testing, Commissioning & Client Handover

Following installation, our engineers checked video signals, computer and display connections, simulator software configuration and communication with the launch monitor. Projector image alignment was verified against the impact screen and the secondary display was tested.

The client received a practical handover covering startup, software access and everyday system operation. Excite remains available to support the AV equipment supplied and installed.

The Finished Golf Simulator

The completed project combines Trevor’s purpose-built outbuilding and GolfBays finishes with a professionally integrated AV system.
