Scope of AV project

Who is the client?
Skew Restaurant, located in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford and situated on the beautiful river Stort. Bringing you fine food, live entertainment, Al Fresco dining, a stunning Champagne & Oyster bar, with cocktails & more.
Food cooked with passion & pride, derived from a Mediterranean heritage. Skew aim to bring you the exciting and authentic taste of the Mediterranean Coast – traditional dishes with a unique and exciting regional twist.
How did the work come about?
When the restaurant originally opened in 2016, we installed a professional BOSE audio system. This was background music for the bar, private dining and downstairs dining area.
This BOSE bar av install consisted of:
– Cloud electronics 4 channel amplifier
– Bose DS100 surface and ceiling mounted speakers
– Cloud RL1 Volume controls for 4 zones
During the lockdown of 2020, Ali renovated the upstairs of the restaurant. A complete refurb and requested us to install a DJ system for the weekend evening entertainment.
A background music system was also required outside, ideal for the beautiful summer evenings by the river.

What bar av was installed?

We used 4 x Martin Audio cabinet speakers and 2 x 10” subwoofers in the upstairs bar area for the DJ system. These were powered from the rack using 2 x QSC GX5 2 channel amplifiers offering 500W per channel. We used the DBX 215S Dual 15-Band Equaliser to alter the sound to the preference of Skew’s resident DJ Conrad. The speakers sounded great and Ali was very impressed with the performance.

Outside we installed 4 x AMC outdoor speakers and used a Sonos Amp. Ali was pleased again with the level of quality background music for the al fresco diners.
