Project Overview

In August 2026, Excite Technology Ltd completed a focused audio-visual integration project for TL Draw London, providing the venue with a simple, reliable and easy-to-operate display and audio solution. The brief centred on creating a large-format visual focal point that could support a wide range of day-to-day requirements, including presentations, sporting events, television broadcasts, digital signage and general multimedia content.

The design was intentionally kept straightforward. Rather than introducing unnecessary switching, control or processing equipment, the system was built around a high-quality commercial display with a convenient local HDMI connection. The display’s audio was then integrated into the existing venue sound system, ensuring that users benefit from both a large, clear image and consistent audio reproduction throughout the space.

98-inch Commercial Display

At the centre of the installation is a Hisense 98-inch commercial display. The large screen provides an impressive viewing area and gives the venue significantly greater visual impact than a conventional domestic television or smaller presentation screen.

The commercial display has been selected to suit a venue environment where the screen may be used for extended periods and for a variety of content. Its size makes it particularly well suited to presentations, live sporting fixtures, promotional material, digital signage and video playback, giving customers and staff a clear view of content across the room.

By using a commercial display as the primary visual device, the installation provides TL Draw London with a flexible platform that can accommodate changing requirements without complicating the user experience.

Local HDMI Presentation Connectivity

To make connecting external devices as simple as possible, a local HDMI input plate has been installed adjacent to the display. This allows a user to arrive with a laptop or other HDMI-equipped source, connect directly at the screen location and begin presenting without needing access to an equipment rack or technical control system.

The HDMI connection feeds directly into the Hisense display. This direct signal path reduces the number of components involved, helping to maximise reliability while keeping operation familiar for users. There is no separate video switcher to navigate and no complicated input-routing process; users simply connect their source and select the appropriate display input.

This approach is ideal for a multi-purpose venue because it provides professional connectivity without creating unnecessary barriers for non-technical users.

Display Audio Integration

A key part of the project was ensuring that content shown on the 98-inch display could also make full use of the venue’s installed loudspeaker system. Relying solely on the display’s internal speakers would limit both coverage and overall impact, particularly when the room is busy or when video and sporting content forms an important part of the customer experience.

To achieve this integration, a Blustream DA11AU HDMI audio de-embedder has been installed discreetly behind the display. The unit takes the incoming HDMI signal and extracts its embedded audio, converting it into an analogue stereo audio output while allowing the video signal to continue to the display.

The extracted analogue audio is connected using a twin RCA audio connection to the venue’s Cloud 24-240 mixer-amplifier. This brings display audio into the same professional audio system used for the venue’s other sound sources.

Cloud Mixer-Amplifier Integration

Feeding the display audio into the Cloud 24-240 provides a much more consistent listening experience throughout the venue. Presentations, television programmes, video content and sporting events can all be reproduced through the installed loudspeaker system rather than being confined to the immediate area around the screen.

The integration also means that display audio can be managed alongside the venue’s other audio sources from the Cloud system. This gives the venue practical control over playback level and helps maintain appropriate sound levels for different uses of the space.

Using an analogue feed from the Blustream de-embedder into the existing mixer-amplifier also keeps the audio path robust and serviceable. The solution makes effective use of the venue’s existing infrastructure while adding the functionality required for the new display.

User Experience & System Design

Ease of use was an important consideration throughout the design. The completed system does not require specialist AV knowledge for normal operation. A user can connect a laptop to the local HDMI plate, select the required HDMI input on the display and immediately use the screen for their content. Where the source contains audio, that audio is automatically extracted and made available to the venue sound system.

This simple workflow reduces the possibility of operator error and makes the installation suitable for regular use by different members of staff, visiting presenters or other users of the venue.

The project is also a good example of designing an AV system around the actual requirement rather than adding technology for its own sake. The combination of a commercial display, direct HDMI connectivity, dedicated audio extraction and integration with the existing Cloud amplifier provides all of the required functionality in a clean and dependable format.

Installation & Completion

All elements of the solution were designed and installed by the in-house Excite Technology team. The installation included the physical display solution, local HDMI connectivity, HDMI audio de-embedding and the final analogue audio connection into the Cloud mixer-amplifier.

Following installation, the system was configured and tested to confirm correct video presentation and reliable audio playback through the venue system. Particular attention was given to ensuring that the final setup remained intuitive for everyday operation while maintaining the professional standard expected from a commercial AV installation.

The completed project provides TL Draw London with a versatile large-format display and integrated sound solution that is ready for presentations, sporting events, digital content and general venue use.

Project Outcome

The finished installation delivers a strong visual centrepiece while making effective use of the venue’s existing audio infrastructure. TL Draw London now has a 98-inch commercial display with convenient local presentation connectivity and the ability to reproduce display content through the installed loudspeaker system.

The result is a neat, practical and scalable AV solution: easy for staff and visitors to use, reliable in day-to-day operation and flexible enough to support a broad range of content. By combining carefully selected equipment with straightforward system architecture, Excite Technology has delivered an installation that enhances the venue without introducing unnecessary complexity.
